Ok, so new ideas needed for proofing waits at home. I am finding it hard to trick D to move now, I have tried:
throwing/ dropping food & toys
putting food inches away from his nose to tease him
running away
running towards
walking behind
playing 123
the biggest challenge for him is new enviroments but I am limited with that each day coz of Ethan so trying to find as much as I can to do at home.
Bet I still end up with a twitchy startline :D

Try jumping over furniture...and also making lots of excited noises....chucking a ball over his head (though don't let it hit him on the nose as I did with Nellie and it was a while before she would believe it wouldn't bite her again :) )Having conversations with people on the phone.....Maybe don't try swinging from lightshades. Well not where the neighbours can see anyway.....
With Scandal who is food obsessed, I now get the other dogs food ready with her in a sit wait and deliberately let the other 2 jump around and be excited... she can't bear them possibly getting the food before her so we get the sit-shuffle-sit-shuffle behaviour. However, I don't think we'll ever cure it and she's still incapable of staying with me off lead while another dog is running (heaven knows what we'll do at shows) so perhaps I'm not the best to advise on teaching waits :D However as Scandal isn't that enthusiastic we still have a stand wait, so to be fair if she ever gets round to the point of trying to break her wait I'll actually be quite excited :D xx
the biggest one would be to add his mummy to the equation, bet he would move then, he is a good boy, love what you are doing with him, i can do all that with skate but not tried with the munchkin yet, keep it up he is a good boy xx
Biggest thing for Wren was having a dog playing in front of her or being released from their wait - she found that very hard to resist.
